GLEN CHAIRS CONFERENCES ON NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT AND ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT
Partner Alan Glen chaired CLE International's National Environmental Policy Act Conference in Austin on April 16, 2004. The conference focused on NEPA's role in review of transportation projects and included speakers from academia as well as the public and private sectors. Several panelists spoke specifically about trends towards streamlining the NEPA review process and potential applications in the Trans Texas Corridor Project.
In October, Mr. Glen will co-chair with Melinda Taylor of Environmental Defense a two-day conference in Austin on the Endangered Species Act. The featured speaker with be Dr. Renne Lohoefener, Texas State Administrator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Firm attorneys Craig Douglas and JB Ruhl will also make presentations. Mr. Glen will also speak in October on the topic of Habitat Conservation Plans at an ESA conference in Denver. Mr. Douglas will be speaking at CLE International's Texas Water Law Conference in Houston on May 25th , and Firm associate David Hartman is on the planning committee for the Travis County Bar Association's annual Land Development conference. Mr. Hartman will also be speaking at a May 10 conference in Austin regarding Major Land Use Laws in Texas.
