 Smith|Robertson CLIENT ESTABLISHES PRECEDENT-
 SETTING CONSERVATION BANK

The owners of a 3,000-acre ranch in central Texas have signed an agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the creation of the Hickory Pass Ranch Conservation Bank. The innovative agreement is one of the first of its kind in Texas. In exchange for providing for the permanent preservation and management of their family ranch for the benefit of the endangered golden cheeked warbler, the owners receive the right to sell conservation credits to governmental and private entities needing to mitigate impacts to the warbler.
